April and Andreas ~ A German Love Story
April and Andreas had one of the most unique weddings I've ever had the pleasure of photographing. The two live in Germany but decided to get married in the U.S. where April and her family are from. They wanted to include a true German custom, so they performed a log cutting ceremony. The tradition of the sawing of the log represents the first obstacle the couple must overcome in their marriage. By cutting through the log, they overcome the obstacle. It was such a cool ceremony to witness and photograph! April and Andreas made sure to have a legit log, too. They truly worked as a team to saw that thing in half!
I loved April's gown and hair and makeup. She embodied classic elegance and beauty. The red sash she added to her dress was a perfect touch.
Their decor was filled with autumn colors and all things apple. There was cold and hot cider to enjoy and baskets filled with apples for guests to take as favors. The couple has a love for Star Wars, which I think you'll see in some of their cakes, props and photos. Be sure to also check out their uber cool rings and ring box that the groom made himself.
April and Andreas truly had a personalized and beautiful wedding. I know you'll enjoy it.
